    Human motion analysis

At HDL, we quantitatively analyze human movement to understand functional impairments and drive the development of rehabilitation and assistive technologies. By extracting key features from gait and whole-body kinematics—such as phase transitions, joint coordination, temporal symmetry, stability, and variability—we move beyond simple descriptive statistics. We interpret movement through the lens of dynamics and control to investigate how physical and neurological constraints alter motor regulation. Integrating biomechanics, signal processing, and data-driven modeling, our research establishes objective metrics for functional assessment, enabling precise clinical evaluations and the advancement of intelligent assistive systems.
